University of Gdansk, Institute of Oceanography, Department of Marine Chemistry and Environmental Protection, 46 Marszalka Pilsudskiego Str., Gdynia 81-378, Poland.

Biography

Marta E Kobusińska research interests are focused particularly on the environmental fate of dioxins and dioxin-like substances, as well as unregulated contaminants of the emerging concern in the marine/aquatic environment. The research field covers a multistep assessment starting from the development of the new analytical protocols for new substances with the arising environmental concern, supplemented by the preliminary bioassays of a wide range determination spectrum, followed by the computational chemistry. All this to make the basic sciences utile - to move from words to deeds!

Polychlorinated Dibenzo-P-Dioxins (PCDD), Polychlorinated Dibenzofurans (PCDF) and Dioxin-Like Polychlorinated Biphenyls (Dl-PCB) in the Baltic and Arctic Fish and the Further Trophic Transfer of these Pollutants to Seabirds

The study presents the analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins, dibenzofurans (PCDD/F) and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (dl-PCB) in fish and seabirds from the Baltic Sea area and the Arctic region (the Svalbard Archipelago). Long-time studies revealed no significant temporal trends in PCDD/F and dl-PCB concentrations in fish from the... Read More»
