Heron Gordilho tem se destacado, em âmbito nacional, na luta pelos direitos animais. Ele foi o primeiro pesquisador a escrever, no Brasil, tese de doutoramento em Direito Animal com o título Abolicionismo Animal. Doutor em Direito Público pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Heron graduou-se em Direito pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), onde também se tornou mestre em Direito e Ciências Sociais.Publications
