Biography

For many years, Gerhard Zielhuis (Department of Health Evidence) has committed himself to research, education, and patient care at Radboud university medical center and to the development of Epidemiology in the Netherlands. He was one of the founders of the study of General Medicine, the precursor to Biomedical Sciences. Zielhuis was the impetus behind the Parelsnoer (Pearl Necklace), an initiative for the development of biobanks in which hospitals collect clinical data for specific patient groups.
