Robyn Honea is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She is also a member of the Alzheimer's Disease Clinical Research Program, the Center for Health Behavior Neuroscience, and collaborates with the Hoglund Brain Imaging Center.
Dr. Honea's research focus is on using various brain imaging modalities to understand more about genetic risk for brain disease, as well as characterizing healthy brain aging. She is involved in a variety of research involving neuroimaging in aging and Alzheimer's Disease, including the study of new neuroimaging markers of risk for Alzheimer's Disease with the Alzheimer and Memory Program, lead by Dr. Jeffrey Burns. She also leads a study on neuroimaging in Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Disease Dementia, collaborating with KUMC Parkinson's Disease Center. Her current interests also include using brain imaging to study the underlying neural mechanisms and role of genetics in obesity. This is part of her collaborative work with the Center for Health Behavior Neuroscience, Directed by Cary Savage, PhD.
