Patricia Cioe
Biography
Research Interest
Her recent publications have focused on smoking cessations interventions in persons living with HIV (PLWH), the effects of alcohol use and cigarette smoking on HIV clinical outcomes and biomarkers of monocyte activation and inflammation, and the use of behavioral couples therapy for smoking cessation in smoking-discordant couples. She was recently awarded a K23 career development award from NINR to use qualitative methods to develop and pilot test an invention to improve cardiovascular risk perception and adoption of heart-healthy behaviors in PLWH, including diet, physical activity, and smoking cessation. She has current interests in qualitative research methods, intervention development, and positive psychology.
