Biography

In 2013, He accepted a new appointment as Professor and Chair in Department of Physiology, Liaoning Medical University, P.R. of China. Before accepting the appointment, He had served as an assistant professor for 8 years in Vascular Biology Institute, Hypertension/Nephrology Division, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His research is focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of vascular injury in hypertensive and metabolic diseases, with an emphasis on the role of interaction between nitric oxide, angiotensin-reactive oxygen species in regulation of endothelial function, vascular inflammation in hypertensive and metabolic diseases. His major interest includes vascular endothelial biology, vascular insulin resistance, macrophage biology.

Research Interest

Renin-angiotensin system, oxidative stress and nitric oxide in regulation of blood pressure, endothelial function and cardiovascular homeostasis, Vascular injury and insulin resistance in hypertensive and metabolic diseases, Scavenger receptor CD36, smoking and atherosclerosis.
