Linda Lamont has 25 years of experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation programming. She has been the director of cardiac rehabilitation at the Cleveland Veterans Administration Medical center, the Case-Western Reserve University School of Medicine at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital, and the University of Rhode Island. Her research has been funded by major grants from the National Chapter of the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health, Institute of General Medical Sciences. The topic areas of her research include: cardiovascular disease, amino acid metabolism, gender differences in exercise and clinical exercise physiology. Recently she has been focusing on clinical exercise physiology, particularly the effects of surfing as a therapeutic modality for children with disabilities.
