Dr. Eric J Downer, Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, University College Cork, Cork, Ireland, works on Body structure, Anatomical science, Neuro generative diseases, Neurological diseases, Brain diseases like stroke.
 
Research Interest

Dr. Downer’s research interest is in neuroimmunology, with emphasis on the role of the innate immune system in neuroinflammatory conditions. He has a particular interest in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and is interested in developing novel biomarkers that correlate with disease progression, in addition to assessing new therapeutic avenues in MS. He also has a particular interest in the cannabinoid system, and its role in regulating neuroinflammation. His research in this field has made significant contributions to our understanding of cannabinoids as anti-inflammatory therapies, particularly in MS.
