Dr. Jianye Ge ,Department of Forensics and Investigative Genetics at University of North Texas Health Science Center. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in computer science from Nankai University, China, and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of Cincinnati in 2009. His research relates primarily to forensic genetics, bioinformatics, and data mining, such as developing algorithms and interpretation guidelines for forensic genetics applications. He has published about 30 peer-reviewed papers (most in the top journals in relevant fields) and several book chapters. He has been invited as editorial board members of two scientific journals. The software programs he developed have been used by multiple Federal and State government agencies. He regularly gives lectures and invited talks in conferences and training workshops to graduate students, colleagues, and professionals.

As a forensic pathologist, Dr. Mohammed Nasimul Islam had worked for Bangladesh, Japan and the United Nations assigned to Samoa. He is currently active in research mainly on sudden unexpected death, cardiac pathology, drug abuses, crimes and sexual offences. He has published 54 national and international scientific articles to his name.  Prof Islam is current chairman of the INPALMS2013 organising committee that will be held in Malaysia in 2013.

Dr. Mehta received his MD degree in India and PhD in Sweden, and completed his post-graduate education in New York and Minnesota. He joined the faculty of the college of medicine of the University of Florida where he rose to be University Research Foundation professor.He moved to Little Rock in 2000 as the first Stebbins Chair in Cardiology and Professor of Medicine and Physiology and Biophysics to lead the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at UAMS and VA hospitals with over 100 physicians, graduate and post-graduate students and staff. Dr. Mehta serves on the editorial board of several major cardiology, physiology and pharmacology journals, including Circulation, Hypertension, American Journal of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and the World Journal of Cardiology.  He has published over 1000 papers, abstracts and book chapters.  He is a member of many prestigious academic societies, including the Association of American Physicians, American Society for Clinical Investigation and Association of University Cardiologists

Igor K. Lednev is an associate professor at the University at Albany, State University of New York.  He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russian Federation, receiving his Ph.D. degree in 1983.  Then Dr. Lednev worked at the Institute of Chemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, as a group leader. Dr. Lednev joined the University at Albany in 2002. As an academic visitor, he worked in several leading laboratories around the world including the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada and Germany.  Dr. Lednev’s research is focused on the development and application of novel laser spectroscopy for biomedical and forensic applications.  Dr. Lednev is a recipient of the Research Innovation Award.  He has co-authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

 Biography :

Rick Wyant received his Master’s Degree in 1994, has been forensic scientist since 1995 and a reserve deputy since 2000. He currently supervises the forensic firearms unit at the Seattle crime laboratory and is court qualified in firearm/tool identification, crime scene analysis, less-lethal devices, and trajectory reconstruction. He has been analyzing evidence related to Electronic Control Devices (ECD) and Less Lethal impact munitions since 2001 and is one of the founding members of CRT LL.  Rick and CRT LL have taught these protocols to police agencies, scientists, students and attorneys all over the US and abroad including the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada.  He is a distinguished member of the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners, an associate member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, a board member of the Scientific Working Group for Firearms and Toolmarks(SWGGUN), and the NIJ Technology Working Group (TWG) for less-lethal weapons.

He is a Licensed Psychologist (Minnesota), A Diplomate of the American Board of Psychological Specialties in Forensic Psychology, an Academy Certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Certified Consultants & Experts (2001), a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners International, and a member of the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology. For over 26 years he has worked with abuse and sex offender populations as a forensic and clinical psychologist. He has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels for colleges. He is an adjunct professor at several Florida colleges including Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). For many years he has provided forensic consultation and trainings nationally to law enforcement addressing sexual predators & physical abusers. His audiences have included law enforcement, mental health professionals, and county attorneys and prosecutors, and judges. SK Gupta is working as Scientist – C (Senior Lecturer) in the Department of Animal Ecology and Conservation Biology at Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun, India. He is also handling the DNA forensic research in Wildlife Forensic Cell at WII. He has been involved in research in the area of conservation genetics and forensics since 2002. His research interests are evolutionary genetics and identifying genetic factors that increase the threat for survival of an endangered animal population. He is working on development of molecular techniques for the conservation of rare and endangered species, and wildlife forensics. He is also involved in teaching and training courses on the wildlife forensics, conservation and evolutionary genetics at WII and other institutes.

 Biography :

Dr Kewal Krishan serves as Sr Assistant Professor of Biological Anthropology at Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He specializes in Forensic Anthropology. He extensively worked on Gujjars of North-West India. He is on the Editorial Board of 25  international and national journals of repute. He has more than 45 international publications on various aspects of Biological and Forensic Anthropology like anthropometry, estimation of stature, bilateral asymmetry, foot-prints and forensic podiatry. His articles have been published in reputed journals of medical and forensic sciences like Forensic Science International, American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology, American Journal of Human Biology, Journal of Forensic Sciences, Singapore Medical Journal, Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine, Legal Medicine (Tokyo), Medical Hypotheses, Journal of Forensic Nursing, Bioscience Hypotheses, Journal of Forensic Odonto-Stomatology, The Foot, Journal of Renal Nutrition, Indian Journal of Foot and Ankle Research, Journal of Pediatrics etc. He presented his innovative research at various international forensic conferences in many countries. He has also been awarded Elsevier Top Cited Award for an article in the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine. He is instrumental in reviewing a number of articles for 27 reputed international journals (including those of publishers like Elsevier, Wiley-Blackwell, Springer, Taylor and Francis) within the purview of Forensic anthropology and Medical Sciences. He is also a member of 18 international and national professional societies including Midwest Bioarchaeology and Forensic Anthropology Association (BARFAA), European Anthropological Association (EAA), The Science Advisory Board USA, American Society of Forensic Podiatry (ASFP), American Association of Physical Anthropologists, National Academy of Sciences India (NASI), International Association of Identification (IAI), USA.

His areas of interest include Anthropometry, forensic osteology, stature estimation, forensic podiatry, physical growth and development and nutrition.
