Biography

Dr. Meijuan Li received her PhD in biostatistics from the University of Minnesota in 2008. There, she worked with Dr. Cavan Reilly on developing statistical methods for genetic association studies and genomic studies. Currently, she is working as a mathematical statistician for the United States Food and Drug Administration in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health. During her career, Dr. Li has authored over 10 peer-reviewed research articles in the areas of statistical genetics, statistical genomics, Bayesian non-parametric survival data analysis, multivariate non-parametric Bayesian data analysis et al. She is a member of American Statistical Association and Eastern North American Region/International Biometric Society.

Research Interest

Her research interests include statistical methods for genetics, genomics, and diagnostic medicine. In particular, Dr. Li focuses on statistical methods for detecting, mapping, and isolating genes involved in complex diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and cancer. Through these methods, she hopes to provide targets for molecular and personalized medicine.
